2017 Long Island Memorial Day Parades

One of the most popular ways to celebrate Memorial Day is by attending a parade. Wave a flag, don red, white and blue and don’t forget American pride at these 2017 Long Island Memorial Day parades.

Amityville

When: Monday, May 29 at 10am
Where: The ceremony will take place at the gazebo on the Triangle. After, participants will walk north on Broadway to the Amityville Cemetery, where another brief ceremony will be held.

Bay Shore

When: Monday, May 29 at 10am
Where: The parade will begin at the intersection of Lanier Lane and Main St.

Bohemia

When: Monday, May 29 at 10am
Where: Veterans’ memorial services will take place at 10:30am at the war memorial on the corner of Smithtown Ave. and Church St. Services and a veterans’ tribute will follow at 11am at the Bohemia Fire Department on the corner of Smithtown Ave. and Pearl St.

East Meadow

When: Monday, May 29 at 10am
Where: The parade will start at East Meadow High School and finish at the Town of Hempstead Veterans Memorial Park.

Farmingdale

When: Monday, May 29 at 10am
Where: The parade route will travel south down Main St. to the Village Green. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 516 Memorial Day ceremony on the Village Green will immediately follow the parade.

Garden City

When: Monday, May 29 at 10am
Where: The parade will start on Eleventh St. and turn south on Franklin Ave. It will then turn right on Stewart Ave., ending at the Village Gazebo.

Glen Cove

When: Monday, May 29 at 12pm
Where: There will be a ceremony prior to the parade at 11am at Monument Park. The parade will begin at School St. at noon.

Hicksville

When: Monday, May 29 at 9am
Where: The parade will begin at the Sears store and end at Hicksville Middle School on Jerusalem Ave. and Fourth St. A ceremony will follow at approximately 10:30am. Guests can finish their mornings with refreshments at Veteran’s of Foreign War Hall at 320 South Broadway.

Long Beach

When: Monday, May 29 at 10am
Where: The parade will begin at Ohio Ave. and West Beech St. and end at the reviewing stand on Park Ave. in front of City Hall.

Malverne

When: Monday, May 29 at 10am
Where: The parade will begin on Church St. and continue through the Westwood section. A ceremony at the Gazebo in Reese Memorial Park will follow.

Massapequa Park

When: Monday, May 29 at 10am
Where: The parade will start on Front St. and travel north on Park Blvd., west on Clark Blvd. and end at Klestinec Park. Following the parade will be refreshments served by the American Legion on Veterans Blvd.

New Hyde Park

When: Saturday, May 27 at 10am
Where: The parade will begin at Lakeville Road and travel east on Jericho Turnpike toward Village Hall, where a short ceremony will follow.

Northport

When: Monday, May 29 at 10am
Where: The parade and services will take place at Village Park.

Oyster Bay

When: Monday, May 29 at 11:30am
Where: Proceeding the parade will be an open house and ice cream social at the Raynham Hall Museum on West Main Street.

Patchogue

When: Monday, May 29 at 11am
Where: The parade will begin on the corner of Main Street and Route 112 and continue to the corner of Main Street and Ocean Ave. Then, the parade will travel south on South Ocean Ave. to the American Legion Post. The ceremony will be held at the Veterans Memorial Park outside the American Legion Post.

Plainview-Old Bethpage

When: Monday, May 29 at 9am
Where: The parade will head down Old Country Road to the Plainview-Old Bethpage Town Park on Washington Ave., where a short ceremony will take place.

Port Washington

When: Monday, May 29 at 10am
Where: The parade will begin on Port Washington Blvd. and continue down Main Street to the John Philip Sousa Memorial Bandshell in Sunset Park. Flags will be given to people along the parade route by the Chamber of Commerce.

Sag Harbor

When: Monday, May 29 at 9am
Where: The parade route will go down Main Street.
